New York's Offshore Wind Revolution Takes Off: Milestone Achieved with South Fork Wind Farm Foundations

In a groundbreaking achievement, New York's green energy future has officially set sail with the South Fork Wind Farm, a 130 MW offshore wind project jointly developed by Orsted and Eversource. Thirteen foundations now stand off the coast of Long Island, marking the dawn of a new era in the Empire State's quest for sustainable and emissions-free electricity.
As the first planned operational offshore wind farm in New York and one of the pioneering utility-scale projects in the entire United States, the South Fork Wind Farm is a symbol of progress. This project supports with New York's ambitious vision to decarbonize the grid by 2040, part of the broader effort to achieve 9,000 megawatts of offshore wind power by 2035.
