ACE NY’s Annual Fall Conference

Running on Renewables: NY’s Race to Clean Energy

If the ambitious goals for renewable energy and energy efficiency in New York’s climate law were not enough to make this feel like a race, the continual reminders of nature’s wrath this year brought more focus and attention to our work to slow down and reverse global climate change.

Whether on the topic of grid-scale renewables procurement; transmission needs; the imperative for storage; the need to invest in ports to prepare for the offshore wind construction; or the electrification of … well… almost everything, New York is in a race against time to achieve 70% renewable energy by 2030, and beyond, as required by law.

But in so doing, we also want to foster job creation, equity, resiliency, continued reliability, and maximum economic benefit in New York, for New Yorkers. It’s a tall order! But success means making our state stronger and safer, and better prepared for the future.

We thank you for joining us for the discussion of New York’s Race to Clean Energy, and for your support for the Alliance for Clean Energy New York all year long.
